TEAM Academy is a high-performing public charter school and the flagship campus of the TEAM Schools network in Newark, NJ. Founded in 2002 and located in the South Ward of the city, TEAM students have outperformed their peers in Newark on state standardized testing every year in every grade and subject. Though they entered TEAM on average 2-3 years behind grade level, every member of the founding class was accepted into a private or parochial high school and those students are now studying at such schools as Phillips Exeter Academy, Deerfield Academy, and the Loomis Chaffee School on their way to college. They paved the way for the growth of the network and proved what is possible for the students of Newark.
TEAM Academy serves 360 students in grades 5-8, and is instilling in them the desire and the ability to succeed in college, in order to change the world.
Rise Academy

Rise Academy is a high-performing KIPP public charter school and the second middle school in the TEAM Schools network in Newark, NJ. Located in the West Ward of the city, Rise is in the middle of only its second year, but already students have made exceptional academic progress. Last year, the founding fifth-grade class last year advanced multiple grade levels on average in both math and reading and outperformed all traditional Newark public schools in math and reading on state standardized tests.
Now serving 180 students in grades 5-6, Rise will eventually grow to serve 360 Newark students in the 5th through 8th grades, instilling in them the desire and the ability to succeed in college, in order to change the world.
Newark Collegiate Academy

Newark Collegiate Academy is a first-year KIPP public charter school and the first high school in the TEAM Schools network in Newark, NJ. Nearly all of Newark Collegiate students graduated from TEAM Academy and are continuing their track to college by taking some of the most rigorous college preparatory courses in the nation. Besides studying Geometry, Philosophy and Rhetoric, Contemporary World History, and other core requirements, students are also taking electives like Graphic Design, Dance, Music Production, and Speech and Debate.
Newark Collegiate Academy currently serves 75 ninth-graders and will eventually grow to serve 500 Newark students in grades 9-12, instilling in them the desire and the ability to succeed in college, in order to change the world
