Non-Instructional Careers

Non-Instructional Careers

As a charter school, we manage most of our own operations - recruiting teachers, enrolling students, handling accounting, purchasing, etc. - and strive to worry about getting all the non-teaching tasks done in order to run a school, so that teachers don't have to.

Back to Instructional Careers

You look at a school and are so overwhelmed by the great teaching that it's sometimes hard to picture all else that goes on behind the scenes. Because TEAM is a charter school we handle all our own operations. We regularly survey our staff to see how we're doing and how else they need help. Here are just a few examples:

Recruitment

You can't have the best staff all in one place just by luck. This 3-person team tracks good talent as would a scout for a professional athlete.

Data & Analytics

The data team creates highly innovative and customized tools to help teachers see their effect on student learning by tracking and displaying trends in the smallest details such as gum-chewing vs. homework completion.

Technology

With Mac and PC labs for students, printers on every floor of every campus, SMART and Eno boards in every classroom, and laptops for each staff member, the tech team has a full time job making sure teachers have what they need to teach.

Enrollment

To ensure we're serving the students who need us we make it easy to register for our lottery - parents can apply online, in person, over the phone or by text message.

Campus Operations

Whether it’s to purchase a new set of books or to plan a week-long field trip to California, each campus has an operations manager to make sure these orders are in on time, so that teachers don’t have to.

Facilities

Schools aren’t just four walls and roof. The facilities and real estate teams make sure students work in clean and welcoming environments that allow for great learning, even if that means building a new school from the ground up.

Development

As a non-profit charter school that gets less per-pupil funding than public schools, we have to raise our own money until reaching sustainability. The development team drives the fundraising that allows TEAM to grow and serve more students.

Nutrition

At TEAM we provide lunches that taste good and are good for you. This tightly run operation helps our students be more health-food conscious while limiting how much food goes to waste.
