Eligibility and Participation
 All TEAM Charter Schools employees and non-TEAM employees are eligible to receive the Referral Bonus except for the following individuals:

  • Employees of Teach For America
  • Principals and recruiting team members from KIPP schools outside of Newark and their immediate families.
  • KIPP Foundation leadership and recruiting teams and their immediate families.

External Referral Qualifications

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to refer candidates.
  • All must notify their referral that we will potentially be in touch with them to explore opportunities in our network.
  • If more than one person refers a candidate to TEAM Charter Schools, any Referral Bonus will be awarded to the first-in-time referral, as denoted by date/time of filing of the employee referral form.
  • Candidates for TEAM Charter Schools employment may not refer themselves to receive a bonus. To learn more about career opportunities for yourself in our network click here.
  • All who refer teachers who have officially worked for our network for 90 days will receive a $1,000 external referral bonus (bonus will be taxed).
  • If you refer someone, we have already been in touch with; you will be ineligible for the Referral Bonus.
  • All who refer candidates for non-instructional positions or candidates who are ultimately hired for a non-instructional position are not eligible for the bonus.

Referral Bonus Process
 The referral bonus amount is $1,000.00. Please see additional information below:

  • There is no limit to the number of Referral Bonuses that an individual may receive under this program.
  • The $1,000.00 will not be given until 90 days after the new teacher has been working for our network.
  • The bonus will be given in the form of a live check during the pay period that the 90 days falls on (15th or 30-31st).
  • Referrals you submit will be considered eligible for the Referral Bonus for up to two years after the submission date. After that, you will need to resubmit the referral in order to become eligible again.

Current Employee Guidelines

  • Referred candidates cannot be current employees or our network or prior employees of our network.
  • Should current employees leave our network prior to the 90 day referral process you are not eligible to receive the bonus.
